About Mike Jones:
Born: Baltimore Maryland
Current residence - Annapolis, MD.
Education - University of Baltimore (Cum Laude), Liberty High School, MD
Hobbies - Rock climbing, mountain biking, sailing, and skiing
Sailing Experience: Mike has been involved in sailing since 1978 on the East Coast of the United States. In 1991 Mike became active in racing of keel boats in Baltimore and Annapolis. After years competing in local Handicap racing on the Chesapeake Bay and Long Island sound, campaigning boats from the J22 fleet to SC 72, Mike was introduced to Sport boats in the Mumm 30 fleet as well as International 14 Skiffs.
Beginning in 1997 Mike left the industrial automation field and began working in the marine industry for e2 marine electronics. After working as a supplier for America One Mike was picked up by the team as a Design team member in the electronics department and “B” boat navigator. After the 2000 cup he returned to work with e2 completing projects for programs such as Esmeralda, Idler, Chesie Racing, Mascalsone Latino, Bomerang, as well as fleet work in the One Design classes. In 2001 he left e2 to sail with and run the electronics department for Oracle Racing.
